Job Purpose

The Community Development Manager at Platform94 is responsible for driving the growth and success of the SCALE by Platform94 community. This role involves working directly with the CEO to build and develop individual and corporate memberships, facilitate member collaborations, organise community events, produce relevant highly engaging content, support community members with scaling related matters and connections, and lead the coordination of relevant community training and support services. Additionally, the role involves leading the continuous development and management of our community portal, ensuring it serves as a central hub for community engagement and resources. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in the management of a membership-based organisation.

Responsibilities/Activities

Membership Growth and Business Development

  • Identify and recruit individual and corporate members for the SCALE by Platform94 community.

  • Develop and implement strategies to increase membership, drive engagement, and enhance

    member retention.

  • Build relationships with potential and current members to understand their needs and provide

    value-driven solutions.

  • Building and managing international partnerships that align with the community’s objectives.

    Event Management

  • Lead the organisation and execution of all community events, including workshops, networking events, and conferences.

  • Ensure events deliver exceptional member experiences and align with community goals.

  • Coordinate logistics and manage budgets for all events.

    Facilitating Connections and Collaborations

  • Actively connect members to foster peer-to-peer collaboration and strategic partnerships.

  • Facilitate introductions to advisors, experts, international partners and key stakeholders.

  • Encourage and support knowledge sharing, creating opportunities for innovative collaborations.

    Content Production

  • Lead the production of a range of community related content using our in-house state of the art media suite.

Membership Portal Development and Management

  • Oversee the ongoing development and management of our members portal.

  • Ensure the portal supports community connection, collaboration, and access to key resources.

  • Continuously improve the portal’s functionality and usability based on member feedback and

organisational goals.

Training & Support Services Coordination

  • Design and coordinate training workshops, scaling skills development and relevant support services for community members.

  • Collaborate with external trainers and partners to deliver high-quality scaling supports.

    Knowledge and Skill Requirements

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Proven experience in managing the operations of a membership-based organisation.

  • Strong experience in event management, including planning, logistics, and execution.

  • Experience in content production, with proficiency in video production & editing tools (training

    will be provided but intermediate content production skills are essential).

  • Experience in managing and updating online platform/portal tools.

  • Strong commercial and business acumen with a track record of managing budgets and financial

    metrics.

  • Strong skills in facilitating connections, collaborations and building relationships.

  • Strong organisational and project management skills.

  • Strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing scaling technology businesses.

  • Ability to build and nurture a robust professional network.

  • Flexibility to adapt to the evolving needs of the community and organisation.

  • Ability to travel periodically for events, meetings etc.
