SCALE Community Celebrates One Year of Growth and Global Success

SCALE by Platform94 marks milestone with 85 scaling businesses, €300m+ revenue, 2,300 jobs, and nearly 90% trading internationally

Last week, we proudly celebrated the first anniversary of SCALE by Platform94, our regional community of ambitious scaling businesses with a strong export focus. Delivered in partnership with Enterprise Ireland, SCALE brings together indigenous companies from across the West and North West to collaborate, innovate, and accelerate their international growth journeys.

To mark this milestone, more than 40 business leaders joined us at the Shed Distillery of PJ Rigney in Leitrim for a very special evening. The highlight of the night was hearing directly from Pat Rigney, Founder & CEO, who shared his own experience of building a global brand, the challenges of scaling internationally, and the lessons learned along the way. His insights perfectly captured what SCALE by Platform94 is all about — ambition, innovation, and the power of collaboration.

The celebration also coincided with the release of our SCALE Community Insights Report, which shines a light on the achievements of our members and the opportunities that lie ahead. In just 12 months, the community has grown to 85 indigenous scaling businesses, collectively employing more than 2,300 people and generating over €300 million in revenue. Impressively, 89% of members are already trading internationally.

Key insights from the report include:

  • Strategic partnerships emerging as a major driver of market expansion.

  • Technology adoption presenting both challenges and opportunities for global competitiveness.

  • Economic uncertainty now ranked as the top concern for members, ahead of talent and funding.

  • Continued optimism and resilience, with most companies projecting an average of 15% growth in 2025.

  • Headcount growth already at 21% this year, with plans to reach 30% by year-end.

Commenting on the results, our CEO Marie Donnellan said:

“What strikes me most from these results is the resilience and ambition of our regional businesses. Despite economic uncertainty being named as the number one challenge, companies are pushing ahead with growth plans, new market entries, and innovation. The emphasis on strategic partnerships and technology adoption shows that collaboration and adaptability are now at the heart of how our members scale internationally.”

Reflecting on the first year of SCALE, Marie added:

“I’m incredibly proud of how far the community has come in just one year. Huge thanks to our fantastic team, our 85 inspirational ambitious members, to Enterprise Ireland, our community partners and supporters, our board, and everyone who has helped to make this initiative a success. We are very excited for the road ahead.”
